What Lost Boys Achieved.

" Education is our Mother and Father".

Welcome to Walk for Memories and Prayers simply known as Walk-a-MAP was established in 2008 by Dominic Diing and his friends to create opportunity for Christian community to walk and pray together with the former lost boys of Sudan and other survivors of wars and genocides from Africa.
" Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you", Said the Lord          --- John 14:27---

Let us pray for peace for the people of Sudan, Rwanda, Congo,  and Somalia. The Walk MAP is annually sponsored by AID and CARE and St. John Grace Episcopal Church in Buffalo, New York.  While saying many christians open their armies to do this annually, its mission is extended to praying awareness and fundraising to help the lost boys provide basic needs to abandoned children, orphans and vulnerable women in the war broken region of Southern Sudan.

Walk MAP can be sponsored by any church in the city of Buffalo, suburb areas, and beyond.
If you are a church or school interests to sponsor a " Walk and Prayer" this summber, please contact Mary Dole at 716-783-8022 or email via rebuildinghopes@yahoo.com

Spring Play: Dominic Diing life story was played by Kathyrn Flasher.

Elliot Johnston '10 photographs Dominic Diing, who will be played by Kathryn Flashner '10.Directed by Kristen Tripp Kelley,. Arts Department Chair and theatre teacher at Nichols, the play is created in the style of theatre documentarians Anna Deveare Smith ("Let Me Down Easy"), Moises Kaufman ("Laramie Project"), and Eric Jensen and Jessica Blank ("The Exonerated").

The class used interviews with real people to create a script that illuminates the often unfamiliar local refugee population. Students spoke with refugees living in WNY, along with individuals such as ministers and social workers, who work closely with the population. "The class wrote a script built verbatim from the interviews, and students will perform the people they met," said Ms. Kelley. "We hope that the production will raise awareness of the challenges the population faces, and highlight the positive contributions they make to our communities."
